Scheerhorn
MAHOGANY
Tim Scheerhorn was a guitar picker first and foremost, and he wanted more from his instrument, so he built his first resonator guitar in 1989. He showed it to Dobro player Mike Auldridge, who swooned over the quality and tone. Since then, Scheerhorn guitars have become famous as some of the best of their type and are played by a who’s who of pickers. Our squareneck Scheerhorn Mahogany model features a L-style body made of solid Honduran mahogany, famous for its rich, warm tone. Inside is Tim Scheerhorn’s famed open-chamber design with six soundposts, internal sound baffle, and the special handspun Scheerhorn cone. The cast spider bridge is capped with maple bridge inserts and the classic fan coverplate. The neck is made of matching Honduran mahogany with mother-of-pearl dot inlays on the ebony fretboard that’s embellished with curly ivoroid binding. The guitar is stylishly finished with Scheerhorn’s unique dual open soundhole rings, a traditional tailpiece, and chrome-plated hardware. If you’re seeking something truly special in a resonator guitar, Tim Scheerhorn’s instruments are the ones.
