COLLEGIAN
Back in the late 1930s, National introduced the Collegian model with a variety of special, telltale features unique to the now-rare model. Our reissue is a faithful reproduction of that guitar. Its most distinctive aspect is the thin-gauge steel body that’s hand-painted in our Ivory or Galaxy Blue finish. The single-cone resonator is shielded by a special “bullethole” coverplate, just like the originals. The tobacco-burst maple neck is topped by a bound rosewood fretboard. Vintage-style three-on-a-plate tuners and a nickel-plated brass tailpiece complete the classic styling. And the Collegian’s sound, too, is special—that vintage National voice that’s ideal for blues, country, and roots music.
